Wise Play Credo

I am the creator of this Protective Headband (2024). I came up with the idea after reading an internet article about a female Volleyball player whose career was abruptly ended after receiving one too many concussions to the head. After reading the article about her it became a goal of mine to see if I could help in reducing head injuries and concussions. I took the time to locate, and test out various items, and, in time, I had my prototype created within a couple weeks. I knew I would have to test it, and I took my test in February of 2024 by having my niece’s boys taking turns hitting the volleyball towards my head with my Protective Headband. This first hit, which was a pretty hard one on the forehead, came off very well, and I barely felt the hit, because of the headband. I even took the chance to do a volleyball hit to my temple with my protective headband. It was a tense moment in my life, but once the volleyball bounced off my headband, again I barely felt anything.

Over time I had to outsource my product, and find a company that could do their best to make something similar to my prototype. I contacted numerous companies to see if they could make a sample of my headband, but I had no luck. Not one to give up, I finally reached a company that sourced out different products, and asked if they could make something similar to my prototype. They said they would give it a try, and eventually they came up with a sample. They showed me pictures of what they made, and I asked them to send me some samples. Once I received the headbands from a couple companies’ I located on the internet it was my goal to see if the samples they sent me were capable of standing up to my original headband concept.

Just like other INVENTORS, past, present, and future, I thought it best to do my own research rather than let somebody else do it, because of the serious subject matter. So, it was up to me to find some people who would be interested in trying out my Protective Headband, because using my Test Mannequin had to come to an end. The real results would have to come by tossing, or throwing a ball at someone’s head. I had success finding a few people. After throwing the ball at different speeds and doing some repetitive throws at people I got the results after testing it. No one got hurt, and they were quite surprised how the headband absorbed a lot of the impact. I was able to test my Headband on them successfully---Eventually in October 2025 I had ICS LABS test and pass my Protective Headband.

The Protective Headband is not perfect, and not all head injuries can be avoided. I strongly believe the Protective Headband should have its place in the marketplace. The Protective Headband will be good for a variety of sports. A lot of contact sports offer no head protection, and this is what the headband is for, to limit the amount of head injuries created by some kind of head contact. In the near future and further studies, I believe, in time, it will show that the Protective Headband will make an important difference on lessening injuries to the head, and having less visits to the hospital. The time is now to start reducing head injuries and concussions that can lead to other detrimental physical and mental problems. Thank You.
